Grapefruit Elderflower Cocktail
Springtime is just around the corner and I am ready! I’m getting a bit sick of the random snow we keep getting and I’m ready for more sunshine. This Grapefruit Elderflower Cocktail is perfect to usher in Spring, with its beautiful pink color, delightfully floral flavor and best of all, it’s fizz!
Elderflower Liqueur
Have you ever had the pleasure of having a cocktail made with elderflower liqueur? If not, you are definitely missing out! Elderflower liqueur is made from elderflower petals, a small white flower that blooms in the Spring and Summer. The liquid is slightly sweetened and tastes perfectly floral, with just a hint of citrus. Because of this, it’s perfect to pair with citrus, especially fresh grapefruit juice. Because it can be overpowering, you don’t need much. But, the perfect amount can put your drink over the top!
How to Make a Grapefruit Elderflower Cocktail
Make this Grapefruit Elderflower Cocktail in small batches and serve it in champagne flutes or wine glasses. On the other hand, you can make this cocktail in large quantities for a crowd to be served it in a punch bowl. Freeze fresh grapefruit slices to use as a garnish and also keep the punch cold and looking especially beautiful!
- First, juice your grapefruits and strain the juice to remove any pulp. (If you are using store-bought grapefruit juice, this step can be skipped)
- Next, add juice to your desired container (champagne flute, wine glass or punch bowl) and add in elderflower liqueur.
- Top with prosecco and serve!
