Whipped Ricotta with Lemon

This creamy whipped ricotta is infused with lemon for a super easy appetizer that can be served with grilled bread, fresh vegetables or crackers. This tasty spread is perfect for snacking or a Summertime BBQ.



Whipped Ricotta

  • 15 ounces whole milk ricotta cheese
  • 1 Tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 medium lemon juice and zest
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Grilled Bread

  • 1 crusty Italian of French baguette
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper


Whipped Ricotta

  1. Combine ricotta cheese, olive oil, lemon juice, lemon zest, salt, and pepper in a mixing bowl.
  2. Using a hand mixer, beat on medium speed for 2-3 minutes until the mixture is well combined and creamy.

Grilled Bread

  1. Slice baguette into approximately 15-20 slices that are about 1 inch thick. Preheat grill or grill pan on medium high.
  2. Brush each slice of bread generously on both sides with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.
  3. Grill for approximately 2-3 minutes on each side until lightly browned and toasted.
  4. Serve with whipped ricotta spread.
