These rustic cheddar chive biscuits are packed full of layers of buttery goodness. Fresh chopped chives and sharp white cheddar cheese are infused into these light and fluffy biscuit layers. This easy biscuit recipe is perfect for brunch, alongside a big bowl of soup or as an appetizing substitute for ordinary dinner rolls.
In a medium mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt and whisk to combine and remove any lumps. Add in cold butter pieces and using a pastry cutter or fork, cut the butter into the flour until they are crumbly and the size of peas.
Add in milk, cheese, and chives, and use a spoon or rubber spatula to gently mix everything together until the dough just forms a ball.
Turn biscuit dough out onto a floured surface and lightly knead the dough by folding it over onto itself about 4-6 times until the dough isn't sticky and keeps its shape. Roll the dough out gently into a large rectangle and using a knife, cut the dough into 8 rectangles.
Place cut biscuits onto the prepared sheet pan and place the baking sheet in the freezer for 5 minutes.
Remove biscuits from the freezer and place in preheated oven to bake for approximately 15 minutes. Biscuits should be puffed up and golden brown on top.
