This easy pepperoncini dip is the perfect addition to your party spread or an easy dish to bring to your next potluck. The flavor is unique, but tasty and the homemade bagel chips are to die for. They are crispy, chewy and perfectly flavored with oregano and garlic.

Serve with pepperoncini dip with homemade bagel chips as an appetizer with cast iron pan pizza, with polenta cakes with tomato bacon jam or Italian salmon.

    🥯 Ingredients notes

    • Cream Cheese - Block cream cheese will provide a thicker and creamier dip. Whipped cream cheese can also be use, however the dip will be a bit looser.
    • Pepperoncini Peppers - Already sliced pepperoncini peppers, that will make things easier, however you can also get whole pepperoncini peppers and slice them yourself.
    • Bagels - I prefer using plain bagels for these bagel chips. For extra flavor and texture, try onion or everything bagels instead.

    📋 Substitutions and Variations

    • More Spice - Add ½ teaspoon of crushed red pepper flakes for even more spice.
    • Other Accompaniments - Serve the pepperoncini dip with fresh vegetables or crackers instead of the homemade bagel chips.

    🔪 Step by step instructions

First, combine all of the ingredients for the dip, except for the salt and pepper, in a mixing bowl. Mix together the ingredients thoroughly so that the seasonings and pepper are evenly combined with the cream cheese.

cream cheese, pepperoncini peppers and seasoning in a bowl and mixed pepperoncini dip in wooden bowl.

Split bagels in half and cut the halves in one inch pieces. Place bagel pieces in a mixing bowl with the remaining ingredients and toss to combine.

cut bagels on a cutting board and seasoned bagel pieces in a brown glass mixing bowl.

Lay the seasoned bagel pieces out on a sheet pan lined with parchment paper or foil. Bake in a 350˚ oven for about 15 minutes, tossing the pieces halfway through, so they are browned and crispy. Serve chilled dip with cooled bagel chips.

    ⭐ Expert tips

    • Soften the cream cheese before using it to make sure the dip is mixed easily and thoroughly.
    • Chill the pepperoncini dip in the refrigerator while the bagel chips are being made.
    • Cut bagels into even pieces for even cooking and texture.
    • Make sure to toss the bagel chips halfway through cooking to ensure even cooking.

⏲️ Make ahead and storage instructions

Both the pepperoncini dip and homemade bagel chips can be made ahead of time. The pepperoncini dip will keep for 3-5 days when stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator. The homemade bagel chips will keep in an airtight container for 1-2 days and can be re-crisped up under the broiler in the oven, if needed.
